With the UK’s departure from the EU on 31st January, you'll be aware we have now entered a transition period until 31st December 2020.
During this transition period, UK Notified Bodies will continue to be recognised by the EU and can provide conformity assessment for both the UK and the EU market during this period.
Please be assured that your certificate continues to be valid. You do not need to take any action at this moment and any scheduled audits are still required and will take place as planned.
We are continually being updated by UKAS and they have assured us that certification worldwide will not be affected by Brexit and have issued the following update:
“The UK will be leaving the EU on 31 January 2020 after which the UK will be in a transition period until 31 December 2020. During the transition period nothing will change; there will be no impact on the awarding of UKAS accreditation certificates. The UK Government has confirmed that UKAS role as the national accreditation body will remain as it is now after we leave the EU. UKAS will retain its signatory status to the EA, IAF, and ILAC mutual recognition arrangements.”
