The Business Improvement Manager role holds responsibility for developing and managing business improvement initiatives and transformation to enhance the end-to-end customer journey for SME customers.

The successful candidate in this role will be fundamental to the success of the membership division within Alcumus and ensure we are able to deliver upon commercial and customer outputs, create an improved customer experience and clearly establish the before and after state that creates an even better service and customer environment

You will be well versed in running large transformation projects to ensure continuous improvement and development across a variety of commercial and customer related systems and projects and be able to apply principles such as LEAN / Six Sigma as a practitioner in practice. You will be able to identify current state value stream and be experienced in gathering data and performance of systems and map out future state.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Using lean techniques, value stream map the end to end processes across the SME division key product lines to highlight areas of improvement for the business, driving awareness of current state issues and working collaboratively to develop a next future state.
  • Develop and manage the lifecycle from inception to project delivery, business improvement and transformation initiatives across the SME division to continually improve customer delivery
  • Develop financial benefit tracking model to understand payback for improvement projects.
  • Working collaboratively with the sales, marketing, operational and technical stakeholders, take a leading role in delivering new product launches to the internal teams e.g., developing operational processes for new product launches.
  • Using A3 techniques, work collaboratively with the wider team to complete problem solving at root cause level.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues on the use and application of lean techniques 
  • Meet and exceed team KPI targets to ensure desirable revenue generation and behaviours that are consistent with a sustainable business
  • Become a key member of the SME Operations team, encouraging effective teamwork in order that team targets can be met and exceeded on a sustainable basis
  • Extensive experience of using lean techniques and applying in a variety of environments as applicable
  • Extensive experience of project management using key PM disciplines.
  • Extensive experience of working across multiple stakeholder groups to deliver projects on time and in full
  • Extensive experience of managing senior stakeholders in a corporate environment
  • Proven track record of building strong team relationships and setting and managing stakeholder expectations
  • Problem solving using A3, 5 why, and Isikawa
