Compliance & Sustainability Coordinator
The Compliance and Sustainability Coordinator will be working closely with the Global Sustainability Manager and Group Systems Manager, the Compliance & Sustainability Coordinator is to assist with the Alcumus sustainability programme and the operation and maintenance of Alcumus’ compliance and certification systems.
What that means day to day
This role entails providing essential support for carbon accounting and sustainability initiatives in the UK. Your responsibilities will encompass the collection and reporting of data in accordance with the sustainability program, utilizing standardized methodologies and specialized carbon accounting software. You will also play a crucial role in analyzing and presenting this data to evaluate our performance in meeting sustainability targets.
An integral aspect of your role will be to actively champion sustainability throughout our organization, engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, and addressing key aspects encompassing social, economic, and environmental concerns. Collaborative efforts with our Group Systems Manager and Global Sustainability Manager will be pivotal in maintaining our ISO 14001 certification for Environmental Management and the governance framework for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards. Additionally, your support will be invaluable in responding to external client inquiries regarding ESG matters.
Your work will involve a balance of autonomy and collaboration, as you independently complete assigned tasks within specified timelines while also contributing to vital components like audits, presentations, and committee meetings. You will also have the opportunity to facilitate team meetings, fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
Maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity is paramount in your role, particularly when conducting data analysis tasks. You will also actively participate in managing compliance policies and documentation, ensuring stringent document control. Furthermore, you will assist in tracking and managing corrective actions, non-conformances, and statistics that arise from both internal and external audits and management reviews.
Lastly, your support will be instrumental in upholding our ISO 45001 certification for Occupational Health & Safety and ISO 27001 Information Security Management within the UK. Your contributions will play a significant role in advancing our commitment to sustainability and compliance.
What you’ll need to be successful
Essential:
- Passionate about sustainability issues with a willingness to learn and develop knowledge
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Numerate with good attention to detail
- Good organisational skills
- A strong desire to learn and be part of a team
- Ability to regulate own workload and work autonomously
Desirable:

- Graduate membership to IEMA & willingness to work towards Practitioner member or other appropriate membership.
