BITESIZE TRAINING
Asbestos Awareness
Asbestos is an extremely hazardous substance which can cause serious ill-health to those who disturb or damage it.
Buildings built or refurbished before 2000 are likely to contain asbestos. Therefore, anyone working on the fabric of those buildings could potentially be exposed to it, and not only those who work directly with asbestos.
Legally, employers have a responsibility to ensure all workers who may come across asbestos, or asbestos-containing materials are trained so they can work safely. This includes knowing where asbestos and related materials are likely to be found, how to avoid exposure and how to use the relevant protective equipment.
Watch our brief video to learn what asbestos is, where it can be found and the health effects of asbestos exposure. Get in touch with us discuss our full asbestos awareness course so you can ensure your people are safe if they’re likely to be exposed to the substance.
