What’s it like being a Technical Sales Officer at Alcumus ISOQAR?

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

I’m Simon, I’m a Technical Sales Officer here at ISOQAR. I’ve been with the company for 3 years now and genuinely love my job. My journey to ISOQAR has been a varied one, which has put me in good standing for my job now. I worked in several different industries before I found certification, and now I can’t see myself leaving. ISOQAR has a great reputation – I felt that the culture aligned with what I wanted from a company and where I wanted to be going forward.

What can clients expect during the sales/onboarding process?

Our sales team are all trained Lead Auditors – this gives us the technical knowledge to discuss the ins and outs of certification, system requirements and what’s most suited for them so we can help them at every step of the way. This also means the turnaround from query to quote is almost immediate in most cases, as we have the expertise from a technical standpoint. Our onboarding process is second to none – we have a team that is dedicated to supporting clients all the way through from the initial enquiry to becoming a client. It’s very smooth and reassuring for clients.

What makes Alcumus ISOQAR different from their competitors?

Our clients know we’re accessible and available to contact directly as opposed to a call centre approach. Everyone in the team has knowledge in a wide range of industries, which enables us to work together closely, and in turn look after our clients more closely. We are a team that genuinely cares about giving clients the best recommendations, as opposed to just making sales.

Also, there are no management fees, contracts or application fees. Many of our competitors add those on in the small print - we don’t. We’re very transparent.

What do you most enjoy about your current role?

 Genuinely, everything! I get to speak to different people daily, learn a lot about different industries, policies, procedures. The collaboration between teams and reciprocal energy you get back is excellent. You get full support on any decisions you make and get to input into the way processes are carried out. We also build excellent relationships with clients too!

How has Alcumus supported your development?

I’ve been supported with a multitude of training courses from Lead Auditor through to LinkedIn Learning, management training etc. We also work in an environment where you get the opportunity to work on company-wide projects. It’s interesting and good for my own continuing development to work on implementing projects within different teams. My highlight at Alcumus so far has been passing my ISO 9001 Lead Auditor course.

Where would we find you outside of work?

It used to be scuba diving or music festivals. Now with a 4 year old it’s more like soft play centres and parks, or being bribed by said 4 year old into going to the Lego shop. The kid’s got expensive taste!
