We’re delighted to share the news that David Picton has joined Alcumus as SVP of Sustainability. David has worked as a consultant to Alcumus for two years and his global appointment reflects our long-term commitment to sustainability being at the forefront of the business and supply chain risk management.
David brings multi-sector experience to Alcumus, having held chief sustainability and advisory roles in the technology, infrastructure and logistics sectors. Through his consultancy work, David has helped global corporations and organisations in the fields of leadership, people engagement, change, operational performance and strategic growth.
A founding member of the Supply Chain Sustainability School set up in 2012 to support and upskill supply chain companies to deliver a more sustainable built environment, David achieved The Queen’s Enterprise Award for Sustainable Development in 2017. He has also championed the benefits of responsible business at the UN’s Conference on Trade and Development.
As SVP of Sustainability, David will use the theme of ‘Mutual Partnerships’ as the bedrock of his work to establish sustainability as the ‘golden thread’ connecting sustainably-minded companies with contractors and suppliers. In his global role, David will be responsible for driving the sustainability strategy within Alcumus and new product development, linked to ESG and sustainability through technology and data across the UK and North America.
Helen Jones, Chief Operating Officer Enterprise, Alcumus, says: “We’re delighted to have David on board to help us provide cutting edge risk management software solutions to organisations. Now more than ever, success in business doesn’t just depend on what you do, but how you do it. Increasing requirements and expectations mean that businesses need to demonstrate that they’re managing operations without compromising on safety, sustainability, or ethics to achieve growth and build reputation. With David’s expert knowledge and extensive experience, he will help us to grow and develop Alcumus for its future success.”
David Picton says: “Sustainability is not a buzzword for organisations that are committed to responsible business. It’s a multi-faceted and essential part of their strategy to grow brand equity and trust. The most forward-thinking businesses deploy sustainability as a key driver for ambitious growth and wider socio-economic progress, setting challenging goals and inspiring others to shape better futures. The ‘Mutual Partnerships’ approach will form a framework for companies and contractors to collaborate with each other in a world where sustainable operations are paramount.”
