Canary Wharf Group PLC has overseen the largest urban regeneration project undertaken in Europe, designing and building more than 16.5m sq ft of London real estate, which now houses local and international companies and renowned retailers.

They currently hold multiple certifications which include ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 50001 and they continue to play a pivotal role in the progression of their business. Abu Chowdhury, Quality Manager for Canary Wharf Management explains: “Our motivation to get certified was simple; we wanted to be the leaders of best practice and felt the ISO standards would help us to achieve that position. With Canary Wharf being a symbol of excellence by many, these standards would be expected by tenants and other stakeholders for assurance.”
The contribution that the standards play within the organisation are also very much appreciated. “The ISO certification has provided a methodology for continual improvement, which has been communicated from senior leadership and cascaded down to every level of staff within the company,” says Abu. “The audit programme, which is now based on a risk profile, enables the company to prioritise high risk areas and think about monitoring and measuring of all our potential risk factors.”
